2. Data Types and Purposes of Processing

GekoNotes processes only the content that you voluntarily input into the application in order to display, format, and persist your notes:

• Note Content & Formatting: Note titles, plain and rich text strings (bold, italic, underline, list types, checklist states), and chosen SF Symbol icon identifiers across all 36 note slots.
• User Interface Preferences: Theme choice (Dark, Light, System), selected neon accent color, and view configurations.

This data is strictly utilized to provide the core functionality of the app. It is never sold, shared, rented, or transmitted to third parties.

3. Data Architecture and iCloud Synchronization

The application is built upon a decentralized, serverless architecture:

• Zero Developer Servers: GekoNotes does not maintain or route data through developer-owned servers or third-party cloud databases.
• Apple iCloud Infrastructure: Cross-device synchronization (e.g., between iPhone and Mac) relies exclusively on Apple's native NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore framework. Data transmission and storage are encrypted and managed under Apple's security protocols and your personal Apple ID.
• Offline Functionality: You may disable iCloud synchronization at any time in Settings > iCloud Sync & Security. When disabled, your notes remain stored solely in your iOS device's local memory.

4. System Permissions and iOS Features

GekoNotes requires minimal system access:

• No Invasiveness: The app does NOT request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location (GPS), or photo library.
• App Group (Internal Sharing): A localized shared app container (App Group) is used solely to facilitate the iOS Share Sheet Extension, allowing you to import highlighted text from other apps (such as Safari or Mail) into your note banks.
• App Intents & Siri: Voice shortcuts via Siri (e.g., "Save to GekoNotes") are processed locally by the iOS operating system without transmitting data to external servers.

5. Zero Analytics and Zero Advertising

To preserve uncompromising performance and confidentiality:

• The application contains NO third-party analytics libraries (such as Google Analytics, Firebase, or Mixpanel).
• The application contains NO advertising frameworks or tracking pixels.
• The application performs NO behavioral tracking or user profiling.

6. Backup and Data Portability

You maintain full ownership of your data. GekoNotes features native Export JSON and Import JSON capabilities, allowing you to export your entire 36-note archive to an open standard format at any time to save on iCloud Drive, send via AirDrop, or archive offline.

7. User Rights (GDPR & Global Privacy Standards)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - EU 2016/679) and applicable privacy laws, you possess the right to:

• Erasure / Deletion: Instantly clear any or all notes directly in the app, or uninstall the app and remove data from iCloud storage in your iOS Settings.
• Data Portability: Export all your information anytime via the JSON backup utility.
